Yes, “sprinkle” is one of the common understandings today, And I understand why and how “baptize” is used in that sense. However, the New Testament knows nothing of this definition. Baptism is for believers; the ceremony you and your daughter went through is extra-biblical and was much more significant in your heart that it was spiritually for her, I would suggest.

Indeed she was sprinkled with water, not submerged. But to baptize could mean either of those as I understand it.
